The mineral density of your tooth enamel is what gives your teeth the ability to bite and chew food. Poor oral hygiene as well as consuming acidic foods and beverages on a regular basis can gradually erode a microscopic amount of tooth enamel minerals. This makes your teeth more susceptible to cavities and sensitivity.

Exposing your tooth enamel to fluoride is one of the most effective methods of restoring these microscopic minerals. This can easily be accomplished by having your dentist, Dr. Manshadi, Dustin, and Dudeen, administer a basic a fluoride treatment in Bryan, Texas.

This can be done immediately following your regular dental checkup and cleaning. A special fluoride gel is poured into trays that are inserted into your mouth and held there for a few minutes. This fluoride is in much greater concentration compared to the concentration you will find in retail-grade oral hygiene products. After the treatment, you will need to avoid eating and drinking for up to an hour to maximize the fluoride saturation in your tooth enamel.

If you’ve been struggling with tooth decay or sensitivity, you should call Safari Dental at (979) 985-3093 to schedule a checkup with a fluoride treatment.
