How to Pick the Right Toothbrush or Toothpaste for Your Child

April 27, 2017

Would you be surprised to hear that you should brush your kid’s teeth twice every day? Naturally, you’ll need to brush and floss, but have you heard that the toothbrush and toothpaste you pick for your child are important? Still, there are quite a few things you could do to keep their teeth as healthy as possible.

You’ll need to pick a brush made with soft bristles. Unfortunately, if you brush too hard, or use a brush made with hard bristles, you could damage your child’s pearly whites. We also recommend buying a brush that has rounded bristles. Conversely, please remember that your children shouldn’t brush their teeth alone until they’re around five years old. However, your children might need supervision until they can clean their teeth on their own. Finally, please choose a brush that fits well in your child’s mouth. If you buy a brush with a head that’s too large, you might have a hard time brushing your little one’s teeth.

Similarly, when you choose a new toothpaste, you’ll need to choose a flavor that you enjoy. Still, would you be surprised to hear that the toothpaste you choose for your child shouldn’t have fluoride in it since they shouldn’t swallow fluoride?
